Barry and Sophie have been running boats as a team now for over four years learning all the secrets together for ensuring your holiday enjoyment.

Barry has spent many years at sea, travelling the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Having completed 12 Atlantic crossings he has a great knowledge of both cruising areas and the best places to dock and anchor. Five years of being a captain on charter boats has given him ample experience to now enjoy this modern yacht and her special techniques, which he has been delighted to navigate for over a year.
From a young age Barry has been at the sailing school in Hastings, has taught in France, then later in Antigua in a wide variety of sailing dinghies and keel boats, giving him exceptional patience for those willing to learn. Also being an avid fisherman he is always more than happy to get out the rods and try your luck.

Sophie was born in to the world of yachting, and enthusiastically continues to do so. With her sailing knowledge and cookery experience, she is happy above and below deck.

The large galley allows Sophie to passionately create all the culinary wonders of the all the different locations visited, always sourcing from the local markets, to give only the freshest and tastier ingredients. Sophie has a worldly range of cooking experience after completing a gourmet-cooking course in Thailand. She has had a year cooking for Italian owners for pasta lovers, and having grown up in Spain, creates delectable paella, for the Mediterranean experience. With British parents, she is more than happy to create a Sunday roast.

Simon is an eager sailor who has grown up around yachts and the water. Learning to sail in dinghies then continuing onto many years of competitive International Regattas. Coming form New Zealand Simon is a good windsurfer with great knowledge of other water sports. Simon has sailed frequently around the Pacific Islands and then, passing by the Falkland Islands earlier this year, sailed into the Caribbean where he joined Icarus. Simon now takes pride in keeping Icarus looking in Bristol fashion.
